Raise Your Banners for Alliance Events

They say it’s lonely at the top. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. What a lot of piffle about how lonely and sad it is to be rich and all powerful, boo hoo. Maybe some of that nonsense is true if you try to go it alone, but a wise ruler shares the load with friends by joining an Alliance.

If you’re a veteran maker of kingdoms, you’ve no doubt done your fair share of Events. They’re the activities you’ll find on the upper right, in the conveniently titled Events menu. Previously, all Events were solo, whether you were making progress on a milestone event alone, or competing for big prizes in a leaderboard event.

So what do Alliances have to do with Events? Well, there were already plenty of good reasons to join forces with your fellow Nobles, but now it’s more rewarding than ever.

*TRUMPET FANFARE* Introducing: Alliance Events!

These are Events that your whole Alliance participates in, and yes, they come in both milestone and competitive leaderboard versions. This time, your whole Alliance will work together to make progress–or compete–and reap the rewards together .

“But my Alliance isn’t as powerful as our neighbors. Can we participate?” you might conveniently ask.

YES YOU CAN! Alliance Events are balanced based on the size and average Keep level of your Alliance, and the requirements to progress are adjusted accordingly.

“I am mighty, but my friends are tiny. Does this mean I have to leave my friends and join a powerful Alliance to get rewards more appropriate for my majestic mightiness?” you might inquire in an unusually deep voice.

NOT AT ALL! It’s important to play with friends, after all, and members of the same Alliance can receive different rewards for the same Alliance Event (whether milestone or leaderboard) depending on their Keep level. Each participant will receive rewards appropriate to their stature.

“I am a sneaky git. Can I start an Alliance event in a small Alliance, then switch back to my powerful Alliance so we all have an easy time?” you may whine connivingly.

NO YOU CAN’T. Well, you can start the Event and swap to a different Alliance, but your progress will still count toward the Alliance you began it with . The point requirements and rewards for an Alliance event are set as soon as it appears in the Events menu. Indeed, once an Alliance Event appears in the menu, you can only make progress on it for the Alliance you were in when it appeared.

The rest is all rather straightforward for the most part, but here are the rules (you can find them in-game in the info button in the Alliance Events user interface too.)

Brace yourself. Perhaps grab a mug of something nice to sip on while reading. It’s useful information, but it’s a touch . . . dry.

Eligibility Rules:

  1. Alliance event participation requires you to be in an Alliance the moment it is visible in the events panel.

  2. To participate in an Alliance event, you must be at or above the minimum required Keep level.

  3. If you attain the minimum required Keep level during an upcoming or active Alliance Event, you may immediately begin participating in that event.

  4. To earn rewards from an Alliance event, you must earn at least 1 point in that event.

  5. If you join an Alliance or create a new Alliance during an upcoming or active Alliance event, you will not be eligible to participate in that event.

  6. If you rejoin the Alliance you left during an upcoming or active Alliance event, and that same Alliance event is still upcoming or active at the time of your return, you may participate and collect rewards as normal.

  7. If you leave your Alliance during an upcoming or active Alliance Milestone event (and don’t return while it is still upcoming or active), you may collect milestone rewards only up to the point that you were still in the Alliance when the milestones were completed.

  8. If you leave your Alliance during an Alliance Leaderboard event (and don’t return while it is still active), you will only earn the lowest tier of rewards in the Leaderboard, assuming you earned at least 1 point in the event while you were still with your Alliance.

That’s everything for now. The very first Alliance Events in Kingdom Maker history are just on the horizon, so be sure to check back and help speed your Alliance to rich rewards when they arrive!
